Your Role
As a Ruminant Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building long‑term customer relationships within the ruminant industry. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, supporting existing customers, and delivering feed and nutrition solutions that help producers achieve their business goals.Day to Day
- Prospect and develop new ruminant feed customers to grow market share
- Promote New‑Life Mills programs, products, and services to meet producer needs
- Maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with existing customers
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams including customer service, formulation, logistics, nutritionists, and veterinarians
- Provide technical support related to feed products and usage
- Complete ration balancing using available software in collaboration with the central nutrition team
- Monitor account activity, address issues proactively, and support customer retention
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, and days receivable outstanding
- Attend industry events and organize producer meetings
- Develop sales plans, forecasts, budgets, and maintain accurate CRM documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to travel independently to customer sites, industry events, and company locations
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of the Canadian ruminant industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
