P&H Milling

P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

Wage and Benefits

Your Role

As a Packer, the successful candidate will report to the Assistant Head Miller and will support the operations, performing his/her duties in a safe and timely manner within the Mill.

Day to Day

12 hours shifts, working 4 on and 4 off with a Night/Day rotation which includes working weekends.
  • Safely weigh, pack, load, and handle flour products.
  • Operate tote filling, packer systems, stretch wrap machines, and mill equipment.
  • Conduct product quality checks (NIR), equipment inspections, and minor repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the plant; follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety protocols.
  • Complete safety training and comply with all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Perform CCP checks, including metal detectors and magnets.
  • Assist packers, operate forklifts safely, and support production schedules.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Head Miller

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a general laborer position and manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to safely lift and stack 25kg bags.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is exposed to dust.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work shiftwork (12 hours shifts, working 4 on and 4 off with a Night/Day rotation which includes working weekends.)
