Your Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Ruminant Technical & Business Manager to lead and support our team in achieving annual sales goals for our Ruminant product portfolio. Focusing on growth in the Progressive Dairy sector, this role involves developing and managing a team of Sales Representatives and Nutritionists, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business performance and maximize revenue growth.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Alignment
  • Collaborate with senior management to shape company growth strategy and vision.
  • Foster a unified sales approach, promoting teamwork across sales teams for maximum customer engagement.
  • Champion cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
On-Farm Technical Solutions
  • Use technical expertise to provide consultative support on farms, enhancing customer value.
  • Act as a thought leader in dairy management (forages, grains, milking systems, cow comfort, etc.).
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth in the Progressive Dairy sector.
  • Build strategic partnerships to expand market presence.
  • Collaborate with nutritionists to innovate and conduct on-farm trials.
Sales Team Development
  • Lead and train the sales team, identifying skill gaps and providing technical training.
  • Work with the Sales Enablement Manager to ensure proficiency in sales fundamentals and technical knowledge.
  • Implement succession planning to identify future leaders.
  • Develop budgets, KPIs, and performance goals for the ruminant team.
  • Conduct technical training to elevate team expertise.
Customer Relations
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key clients, managing strategic B2B accounts.
  • Oversee customer satisfaction and retention efforts, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and customer experience.
  • Organize educational events and training for livestock producers, sharing the latest technical insights.

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/PhD in Animal Science/Nutrition/Bioscience or equivalent experience
  • Highly driven and personally accountable, energized by teamwork and building relationships.
  • Strong customer focus, business acumen and negotiation skills and can problem-solve within internal and external complexity.
  • Passion for and knowledge of the dairy industry, including robot knowledge, pricing
  • mechanisms, and industry specific regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with a desire to continually learn.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using a CRM platform is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
