Your Role
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the New-Life Mills truck fleet across multiple Ontario sites. Overseas daily dispatch, driver scheduling, hours‑of‑service compliance, equipment utilization, and cost‑efficient delivery while ensuring safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Acts as a key liaison with drivers, customer service, maintenance providers, and transportation leadership.Day to Day
- Plan and execute daily truck dispatch; maximize efficient routing, loading, and haul‑back opportunities.
- Monitor driver logs, hours of service, CVOR compliance, and address violations.
- Support driver safety, training, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Coordinate fleet maintenance, inspections, service scheduling, and adherence to transportation policies.
- Manage driver scheduling, payroll, and after‑hours on‑call support.
- Use Omnitracs for GPS tracking, reporting, communication, and developing KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to biosecurity protocols, feed delivery requirements, and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct audits (gap, garage, ride‑alongs) and maintain centralized records for insurance, maintenance, accidents, and logs.
- Oversee equipment purchasing, cost tracking, and annual licensing requirements.
- Lead transportation policy standardization and support accident investigation and prevention.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma in transportation/logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience driving trucks and transportation-specific Health & Safety training
- Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours delivery or customer‑service needs
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including MS Office.
